• Braeden Anderson

    FOUNDER

    Braeden is an author, attorney, professor, and former college basketball player.

    Braeden wrote the groundbreaking and revolutionary book called BLACK RESILIENCE: The Blueprint for Black Triumph in the Face of Racism - which will be published and released in October of 2022.

    In addition, Braeden is an attorney in the Government, Regulatory and Internal Investigations Practice Group in the Washington, D.C., office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Before joining Kirkland, Braeden was an associate in New York City within Sidley Austin LLP's Securities Enforcement and Regulatory group.

    Prior to entering law practice and working for several of the largest law firms in the world, Braeden played basketball for the Seton Hall Pirates where he won the Big East Conference Championship while attending law school.

    Over the course of Braeden’s journey, he has overcome significant socioeconomic and racial barriers, and defied expectations. Parts of Braeden’s story have been chronicled by numerous global media outlets.

  • Tyler Johnson

    BOARD MEMBER

    Tyler is an American professional basketball player who last played for the San Antonio Spurs of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He previously played for the Phoenix Suns, Brooklyn Nets, and Miami Heat.

    Before joining the NBA, Tyler played college basketball for Fresno State University where he finished his career ranked number 16 on all-time scoring list with 1,346 career points. As a senior, he was named to the All-Mountain West Conference second team and shot 43.2 percent from three-point range, the sixth-highest single-season three-point field goal percentage in school history.

  • Michael Medos

    ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER

    Michael is an accomplished real estate professional based in Edmonton, Canada.

    Prior to his career in real estate, Michael has worked in a wide variety of fields, from health-care and legal services to consumer electronics. A former student-athlete, Michael remained involved in sport by coaching youth basketball and volunteering at tournaments and camps.

    Passionate about community, Michael has volunteered for numerous local initiatives with the primary objective of youth empowerment through educational, career, and personal development.

  • Ismael Sanogo

    ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER

    Ismael (“Ish”) is a professional basketball player and entrepreneur.

    Ish plays small forward for Vanoli Cremona in Italy - LBA Serie A.

    Prior to playing professionally, Ish played for the Seton Hall Pirates and won the Big East Conference Championship in 2016.

    A few words from Ish: “Black resilience is the ability to achieve your goals, even though society wants and expects you to fail.”

  • Eric Carter

    ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER

    Eric is a law student and former professional basketball player.

    Eric attended the University of Delaware where he received a degree in Criminal Justice while playing men’s basketball. After receiving his degree Eric began his next journey playing professional basketball throughout Europe in Hungary, and Switzerland.

    Now retired from basketball, Eric will practice corporate law after receiving his JD. In addition to his legal efforts, Eric holds leadership positions with various non-profit organizations.

    A few words from Eric: “To me Black Resilience means more than just overcoming a difficult situation. Black resilience in today’s time stands for fighting not only to overcome the obstacles and disadvantages presented to African Americans, but to continue to change the narrative that is presented to today’s society. More brothers and sisters in powerful positions to help the youth and change the standard for the younger generations to follow.”
